Actually, we aren't asked these questions often enough!
Obtain a listing of our upcoming classes by visiting this site
or requesting mail list service. Mail list service is guaranteed
with membership as well as discounts on class fees. Inform the
registrar by telephone of the classes you wish to take, asking any
questions you may have. You may need to leave a message to be
called back by the registrar since this is a volunteer position that
is not staffed full time. This needs to be done at least one week
prior to start of the class to help ensure that the class is not
canceled due to too few enrollees. Send in your check for the
fees required and show up for the first class! In event of
cancellation of the class you will be informed and your check returned
or destroyed at your request.
Our classes are mostly for artistic development and specific
curricula for accreditation are not foreseen. However, save your
work completed as examples of your ability. High School students
who have taken our classes have found their work to be good references
on entering art academies or college as art majors. Your
instructors can also provide references for you.
There is typically only one general membership meeting a
year. Recently it has been during February. We plan to incorporate annual
business into this meeting in addition to reporting governing board
activities and plans. Meetings of the board are open to
visitors. You may request notification of the next board meeting
by regular or email.
Our membership directory currently codes members in acrylic,
computer, drawing, oil, pastel, photography, pottery, watercolor,
woodcut, and sculpture media. We may also be able to recommend
artists for types of subject matter such as landscape, portrait, still
life, floral, abstract, etc.
