Voices and Visions of Empowerment Art, Spoken Word, and More Opening Reception October 6, 2019; 2:00 – 4:00 pm Sponsored by The Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office Victim Assistance Program The Elkhart Art League in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Featuring works that capture expressions of empowerment by individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, bias, discrimination and exploitation. The struggle of coping with the effects of assault, hate crime, and misuse continues for a life-time.
The U.S. Department of Justice estimates that 1.3 million women and 835,000 men are victims of physical violence by a partner every year.
Join us to celebrate the victims who embrace survivorship by realizing the power of their creative energies.
Come join us at the Elkhart Art league for the unveiling of the “Transmutation “ painting/project. This massive painting will be hung 10/03/2019 @ 5:30 outside the Art League and remain throughout the month of October for Domestic Violence Awareness month. Be part of the hanging of this labor of love.
