Kids Summer Youth Mixed Media Painting and Pottery Camp taught by Lauren Morales
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday July 8th through July 10th from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Location: Elkhart Art League Studio, 132 Tyler Street, B-1, Elkhart IN 46516 at the west end of the Depot Building south of the Elkhart Post Office
Fee is $110 for Members and Non-Members which includes all materials, tools, glaze, firing, aprons, and instruction for the three-day camp. This camp is for children ages 7 to pre-teen.
Introduction to wheel throwing: Learn basics and practice using wheel.
Hand building: Learn how to use clay to create hand built pieces.
Tie Dye t-shirt painting. (email shirt sizes)
Watercolor painting: Learn to create original art.
Shrink Art Jewelry Making
Sculpey Clay and more!
Parents are welcome to drop students off or stay with children. Please leave emergency contact information prior to leaving the studio.
All materials are included. Pottery will not be finished the week of camp. Firing and glazing will take up to a month but students will be able to choose their glaze colors for the instructor to paint their creations. If this is their first time on the pottery wheel, they may not end up with a finished piece. Classes are messy—wear appropriate clothing. Aprons will be provided.
If a student needs a snack, we recommend a bar or something easy to consume since the studio is for art making and can be messy. Water bottles and other drinks are available for purchase.

About Lauren Morales

Lauren Morales is our new Wheel Thrown Pottery teacher. She has a Bachelor of FIne Art in Ceramics from Goshen College and taught in the Goshen Community Schools and at the Boys&Girls Clubs. She is a certified teacher and visual arts artist, her specialty being acrylic custom jewelry which she sells at local shows and her Etsy and FaceBook sites under the business Moon+Flower Studio.
